How to access the Chatter homepage
Click on the 9 dots
Search for Chatter
Select Chatter
Navigating the Chatter feeds
On the left-hand side of the Chatter homepage, you can access different options of the Chatter feeds. This is used to filter your feeds into the most relevant forums. These are:
What I follow: combines the feeds from all the objects or people that you follow at St John.
For me: A list of Chatters where you are tagged, either by the system or a staff member
Bookmarked: A list of all Chatters that you have bookmarked.
Company highlights: This is the default feed in Chatter. This shows the most recent posts at St John.
My drafts: Holds your saved drafts until you are ready to publish or delete them.
Viewing a post
a: drop down menu to filter posts into top, latest and most recent activity
b: to search for information in longer feeds
c: refresh the feed
d: click to bookmark or delete the feed
e: click on the blue hyperlinks to go to the linked records.
f: click on the blue hyperlink for author’s details.
g: the Chatter note
h: like to comment on the post
i: field to write the text
How to post a chat
Click on share an update
Fill in the information
a: Write your post in the textbox. (to tag someone click here)
b: Use the icons in this toolbar to change the format and style of your text, add a photo and link.
c: Click on the paperclip to attach files to the Chatter. You can attach up to 10 files.
How to mention someone in a post
To mention (notify someone in your Chatter message), type @ then their name. Names will appear as an autofill menu. Select their name and continue typing the message.
Delete a post
After posting you realised that you have made a mistake.
Click on the drop down arrow
Select Delete
Getting Notifications
This is the icon that tells you how many unread notifications you have.
Click on the bell to see notifications where you are mentioned, who is commenting on your posts and group posts. Other actions can also trigger notifications, such as approval requests.
