Managing Restocking Addresses (Customer Sites)

What is a Restocking Address (Customer Site)

When St John began our journey with Salesforce with quickly ran into a problem.
Some of our customers had multiple addresses, and we only had one address field on the Account!
To solve this problem we created a special type of record called a 'Shipping Address' (labeled as just 'Address' in Salesforce.
However we very quickly learned that this Shipping Address could be used for multiple things like Billing Addresses and more importantly, Restocking Addresses.

Throughout the Restocker App we usually refer to a Restocking Address as a 'Customer Site' in order to clarify that we're talking about a physical location where an Account might do business.

These 'Customer Site' records are used to tell us what the address is for a Service as well as where a customer's Asset actually lives.

The Restocking Address (Customer Site) record has some of its own details too, like a primary contact, important notes such as parking or ppe details and of course, the actual street address for the site.

The Restocking Address Page

The Address page has two tabs 'Related' and 'Details'.

On the Details tab we can see information about the Restocking Address itself such as the 'Address Name' and street address.
There is also the opportunity to add Restocker Details such as linking a Contact record to the Address or providing notes and instructions.

On the Related Tab we can see a list of Assets that exist at the Customer Site and a list of Services that have or are scheduled to occur there.
We can also use the actions in the top-right of the page to create a new Service for the Customer Site or create a new Asset that is located at the Customer Site.
More details on creating Services and Assets are available in their sections of this guide.
