How to add calendar items

This guide will outline how to add items into calendar in Sales Force. Please note, the data in the calendar will not appear in your outlook calendar. Sales Force and Outlook calendars do not integrate with each other.

Any object that has a start and end date can be entered into the calendar, such as a session, task or case.

System constraints

 

In the Sales Force Calendar you are unable to enter data directly into the calendar, by clicking onto a date. Instead you are required to set a calendar using calendar controls.

 

 

Calendar controls

 

Click on calendar controls

 

Add calendar

 

This view will display current calendars and their owners.

Click on add calendar

 

Set the calendar details

 

a: Calendar name: enter the name you want you entry to be called. This will pre-populated c: site/ calendar name.

b: Colour code: not mandatory. Select the colour you want from the sprectum on the left side. Click on OK.

c: is pre-populated once data is entered into a:

Click on next – to add further information.

OR – no additional information is required click on save

Object and entry details

a: do not change object type

b: Object name: type in name OR select the object type from the drop-down menu.

c: Entry name: This is name that will be displayed in the calendar entry. Please note, DO NOT select course ID, as this will display the unfamiliar sales force master code. As opposed to the recognisable course identifier. Instead select more special options, such as course name.

d: Select the start and end dates.

Click on next
