Setting a Member's Scope of Practice
St John uses the scope of practice record to determine what activities an operational member is capable of performing. While some roles don’t require a scope of practice, others such as operations or youth teams will. To help ensure accurate information is provided, St John uses the “Manage Scopes and Proficiencies” button to set a member’s scope.
1. Navigate to the member’s contact record and select “Manage Scopes and Proficiencies”
2. As we are making a new scope of practice for this member, we select “Make a Scope of Practice” and select “next”
3. Select the member’s new scope of practice from the dropdown and select “Check scope requirements”
The flow will now ensure that any pre-requisites such as completed proficiencies are available for the member and that the scope can be applied.
4. As this is a HCP scope, we will be asked to provide the member’s Ahpra number. If the number is already available, this will be prefilled.
We can add any notes to the new scope here.
Select “Make Scope of Practice” to continue
5. The member’s scope has now been made. You will be prompted to perform another action, if you have more changes to make select “Yes”, otherwise select “No” and end the flow.
