Reporting on Member Activity

Several report types have been created to make it easier for you to report on St John Members and their activity across the organisation. Reports made specifically for members sit under the "Administration" report type category and will start with the prefix of "Members - ". An overview of the available report types is listed in the table below.

Users in SA have access to several pre-made reports. These reports sit under the folder "SA Member Reporting" and replace existing, out of date kpi reports.

Report Type Description
Members - Contacts with Primary Member Status Reports on the current details of St John Members. Can be used for building reports such as who has a specific scope of practice, who has a specific status or how many members engage in a type of activity. This report type focuses on the current state of members and doesn't include historical records such as past member statuses or activity information.
Members - Contacts with Historical Statuses Reports on Contacts and their current or historical member statuses. This report is useful for identifying the past involvement of members, such as reporting on all the people who have ever held a specific rank or role.
Members - Contacts with AMS and Rosters Reports on Members and their activity in St John. This report is great at identifying who in St John has been participating, when they last participated or what the total number of activity hours were in a prior year. Only members who have had some activity inside of the filter period will show up in this report, so you won't see members who haven't participated in your report.
Members - Contacts and Rosters Reports on Members and their activity in St John. Unlike the Contacts with AMS report, this report shows all contacts whether they have a rostered activity or not. Using this report you could see how many members have done and activity and compare it to members without any activity.
Members - Contacts and Proficiencies This report tracks the proficiencies earned by our members. If you want to see who has earned a specific proficiency, or see what proficiencies are held by a member or a team use this report type.
Members - Contacts and Compliances This report tracks the compliances held by our members. If you want to ensure that a team or a member is compliant, use this report.
Members - Teams and Group Memberships and Contacts This report shows our St John teams and their team members (including associate members!). Remember when using this report to filter the "Account Record Type" to "St John Region". You might also be interested in filtering the report by the team type to see a specific type of team such as operational or non-operational teams.
Members - Committees and Group Memberships This report shows our committees and their members.
Members - Leads with tasks This report is useful for tracking volunteer onboarding leads and seeing what outstanding tasks they may have.
Members - Contacts with tasks This report is useful for tracking upcoming tasks related to managing volunteer members.

Report types in Salesforce use some very specific language. If the report says "Object A with Object B" it means the report will only show records that have both Object A and B. As an example: "People with Dogs" would only show people who have a dog associated with them in Salesforce. Reports that say "Object A and Object B" will show all records from Object A, even if they don't have any of Object B. As an example, "People and Cats" would show all people in Salesforce even if they don't have a cat.
