Types of Sessions
What are Sessions
Sessions are the tool Salesforce uses to manage trainers in courses. Sessions are broken down into the calendar hours per day (i.e. 8am-4pm) and are linked to a calendar and a specific trainer. For a multi-day course there will be one session per day for the course.
Only one trainer can attend each session, however, you are not required to have the same trainer attend all sessions for a multi-day course.
Additionally, there is the capability to have a supervising trainer and a trainer managing the course, if desired (onboarding a trainer, observation, review, multiple trainers needed for the one course etc.) There are no system limitations to the number of sessions for a specific course.
One session can only ever link to one course and one trainer.
Types of Sessions
Session Types
- New Session: A standard session is used to assign a trainer to deliver the course in part or full. Generally, this will be the primary trainer who is responsible for facilitating, assessing and finalising the course.
- New Trainer Session: A session where there has been identified the need for a second trainer to attend, assist, team teach, conduct peer or supervisor observations, or new trainer development.
