What is an Interim Certificate and Who is this for?
Who is this chapter for?
The following chapter is intended primarily for National Training Administrators working out of the St John National HQ.
There may be situations where individuals outside of this group are granted the ability to trigger interim certificates.
If this applies to you, the part of this chapter which is most relevant for you will be article Generating and Delivering Interim Certificates to Students on a Course
What is an Interim Certificate?
St John delivers several long-duration 'certificate' training products such as Basic Health Care and Training Assessment and Education.
The units of competency that make up these certificate products are often also included in sub-products called 'skill-sets'. For example the TAE product may also train the requirements for the 'Assessor Skill Set'.
While some students may enrol directly in these skill-set courses, others may be enroled in the main product but wish to receive a certificate for a skill-set as they progress through the course.
Interim Certificates and Interim Certificate products provide a tool for St John to deliver these skill-set certificates while the parent product is still in progress, without having to enrol the student in a separate skill-set course or reporting a double enrolment to AVETMISS.
How are Interim Certificates configured?
Interim Certificates use both a specially created Drawloop Package for the generation of the certificate as well as a new Training Product with the family of 'Interim Certificate' to configure the included competencies in the certificate.
They are delivered using a tool that is launched from a course record called 'Send Interim Certificates'.
Guides for these components are included in this chapter of the Screensteps guide.
