Reissuing Student Certificate After Name Change

1. Background and Compliance

From time to time, there will be cases when a student has changed their name (last and / or first name) and requests a copy of their previously issued course certificate / SOA in the new name.

At the time of the student's request, they should have already updated their details with the USI Registry and confirm this to us. This request is usually submitted in an email and should be stored against the student's (contact) record in Salesforce.

To summarise, these are the compliance measures that need to be met in order to proceed with reissuing the student's certificate / SOA:-

  1. The student's email request / evidence of name change is downloaded & attached (PDF format) to the student record
  2. Update the student's name in Salesforce on their contact record
  3. Validate their USI after updating their name

2. Reproducing a Certificate with a name change

Once you've completed the 3 x actions mentioned in section 1 above, you can proceed to reissue the certificate by:

  1. From the student's record, click on the action in the far-right corner: Reissue SOA After Name Change:

2. Tick all the items you have actioned at this point and click Next

You'll receive an error message if you haven't completed these tasks:

3. Select which Attendee record you want to reissue the certificate for and then click Next

Note: The updated student name should appear in the column headed 'Certificate Name'. If not, please complete tasks 2 & 3 outlined in Section 1 of this document:

4. Navigate to the Attendee record to see if the reissued certificate has been sent:

Important Note: The 'Date of Issue' and 'Date of Completion' dates on the re-issued certificate should not alter from the dates produced on the original certificate that was previously generated:
