Create an Article
News articles are created using the Articles content type. Pages created using this content type will be linked on the News page as shown in the example below.
Article pages display a Slideshow and Content block by default. However, you may delete these blocks and replace them with other block types, depending on your requirement. See chapter Working with Blocks for more information.
1. Create an Article
Select Content > Add content > Article.
The Create Article page is displayed. This page displays a title, Slideshow block and Content block by default. The Content block includes a Buttons section. It is optional to add a button.
2. Enter a title
Enter a Title for the article. The title is displayed in the breadcrumb and in the header (unless overridden).
3. Edit the slideshow and content blocks.
Edit the slideshow block. See Edit Slideshow Block for more details.
Note: If you include the slideshow block, you must add at least one slide.
Enter a Summary of the article, if required. This field is optional.
Edit the content block. See Add Content Block for more details.
- Enter a Title for the content section.
- In the Body field, enter the article content.
- Add buttons if required.
If you do not want to include a button, you must remove it, otherwise a red square will appear on the published page. If you do not require a button, click on the 3 dots next to the Edit button and select Remove.
4. Add more blocks
To add more blocks to the Article page, click Add Block (at the bottom of the page) and select the required block from the popup. For more information about blocks, see chapter Working with Blocks.
For example, you may wish to add an image row at the bottom of the page. In this case, select Image Row in the drop down and add the images, ensuring they are all the same dimensions.
If you are unsure which block to use, build the page in the test environment first, then replicate it in production.
5. Check your work
To check your edits before publishing, scroll to the bottom of the page:
- Ensure the Published checkbox is not ticked.
- Click Save.
- Click Preview. Alternatively, you can click on the View tab at the top of the page.
To return to the Edit view, click the edit icon at the top right-hand corner of the slideshow banner.
6. Publish your page
When you are ready to publish the page, tick the Published checkbox and click Save.
