This guide describes how to create a new stock product in Salesforce and sync it to the website.

1. Create a product in Salesforce

In SA products are created in MYOB, not Salesforce, therefore SA can skip this step.

The Products page is displayed.

Click the New button. The New Product pop up is displayed.

Select Stock Item and click Next.

The New Product: Stock Item pop up is displayed.

  • Popular Product: Tick this checkbox if you want to short list the product in the Wizard.
  • Trainer Product: As above.

Click Save. The product is created and a confirmation message is displayed.

2. Add the product to the Standard Pricebook

In the product screen, click the Related tab.

Click Add Standard Pricebook.

The New Price Book Entry popup is displayed.

Complete the following fields:

  • List Price: Enter the list price (ex-GST). If applicable, the system will automatically add GST.
  • Active: Leave this checkbox ticked.

Click Save. The Standard Price Book is added and a confirmation message is displayed.

3. Add the product to your states default price book

In SA this is the SA default price book

In the Price Books screen, click the Add to Price Book button

The Add to Price Book popup is displayed.

Complete the following fields:

  • Price Book: Select the default price book for your state.
  • Currency: Select 'AUD'.

Click Next.

The New Price Book Entry popup is displayed.

The information in this popup will default to that entered in the Standard Price Book. Set the price to match you desired ex GST pricing.

Click Save.

The new price book for the product is created.

If the web sync price book is different to the state's default price book, you must add that as well. In this case, click the Add to Price Book button again and repeat step 3.

The product will not be live on the website immediately. The product will sync to the website overnight.

Once in DRUPAL, the product will need to be edited and published before it is available on the website. See Edit Product for more information.
