Add Content Block

The Content block consists of a title, body and optional buttons. It is the most commonly used block on the website. Below is an example of a content block.

1. Add a Content block

In the CONTENT section, click on the down arrow next to Add Slideshow Block and select Add Content.

The CONTENT block is displayed. The CONTENT block includes a BUTTONS section.

Complete the following fields.

Field  Action
Title  Enter a title for the Content block.
Body Enter the content.
Text Format This defaults to Basic HTML. Leave as default.

Note: Only change from Basic HTML if it does not offer the formatting options required. Full HTML may compromise the security of the page so should be used with caution. Refer to your IT department for more information.
Click on the About text formats link for more information.

Click the Style tab if you wish to change the background colour and/or font size. Complete the following fields if required.

Field  Action
Background Color If required, select Light Red.
Font If required, specify the font size.

Return to the Content tab.

2. Add button

To add a button in the CONTENT block, complete the BUTTONS fields.

Field  Action
Icon If you would like to display an icon on the button, select one from the drop down list.
URL Enter the URL of the page or website you would like the button to link to, using one of the following methods:

  • Start typing the title of the page you wish to link to, e.g. ‘Community…’ A list of pages will be displayed in the drop down. Select the required page.
OR
  • For Internal URLs, enter the internal path e.g. ‘/event-health-services/what-we-do’, or copy and paste the URL of the page you wish to link to.
OR
  • For external URLs, enter the web address.
OR
  • For the St John homepage, enter <front>.
OR
  • To display the link text only, enter <nolink>.
Link text Enter the text you want displayed on the button.

If you want to add more buttons, click Add Button and repeat this step.

If you do not require a button, click on the 3 dots next to the Collapse button and select Remove.

If you do not require the button, you should remove it, otherwise it will appear on the web page as a red square.

3. Save your work

Click the Save button. Remember to deselect 'Published' if you are not ready to publish the page.
