Cron Jobs

1. What is a Cron Job?

A cron job is a task that has been configured to automatically run in the system to run at a customisable specific frequency.

2. Run Cron Job

In the Manage menu, select Configuration > Cron.

The Cron Jobs page displays a list of all Cron jobs, the module they are located in, when they were last run, and the duration and status of the job.

Click Run next to the Cron job you want to run.

3. Cron job description

The table below lists the available Cron jobs and outlines when and why they should be run.

Cron Job Description
Cleanup (caches, batch, flood, temp-files, etc.) Runs every 15 minutes.
Course PriceBook Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every day at 01:05 AM.  Syncs special prices from Salesforce to the website.
Courses Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every 12 hours. Syncs courses and variation related information from Salesforce to the website.
Deletes history Runs every 15 minutes.
Deletes temporary files Runs every 15 minutes.
Kit Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every day at 02:05 AM.  Syncs kit items into existing kit products from Salesforce to the website.
Pricebook Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every day at 01:05 AM.  Syncs pricebook from Salesforce to the website.
Product Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every day at 00:05 AM. Syncs products from Salesforce to the website. Includes kits and donations as well as normal products.
Promotions Sync Through SALESFORCE Run every day at 02:05 AM.  Syncs promotion codes from Salesforce to the website.
Purges deleted Field API data Runs every 15 minutes.
Remove expired log messages and flood control events Runs every 15 minutes.
Runs internal cleanup operations Runs every 15 minutes.
Update indexes Runs every 15 minutes.
Updates indexable active search pages Runs every 15 minutes.
Updates search rankings for nodes Runs every 15 minutes.
Default cron handler Runs every 15 minutes. Deletes expired orders in the shopping cart.

3.1. Cron job status

A green tick indicates that the job completed successfully.

A red cross indicates that the job failed.

A blue arrow indicates that the job is in progress or on hold.
